Whipped Coffee: Reliving Quarantine Nostalgia

As graduation grows closer, I am reminded of my senior year of high school 4 years ago…


4 years and 27 days ago the whole world shut down. And with that, my senior year came to an abrupt halt. 


No:

  • Senior prank day / last day of school

  • Senior prom

  • Graduation


Overall, no closure after 12 long years of school. 


Am I still bitter? Lol yeah. But such is life. 


Although the COVID19 pandemic seemed like the end of my life at the time, there were some great things that came along with it. 


For one, I discovered TikTok! What had seemed like a children's social media platform for weird dance videos and lip syncing, actually turned out to be a really inspirational outlet for me. I watched countless cooking videos, craft project inspiration and more. 


Do you guys remember the baked feta pasta? I swear that recipe had a chokehold on every one of us during the pandemic. For those of you that don’t remember- basically you bake a block of feta cheese with a container of cherry tomatoes until everything gets melty and hot, and then you add cooked pasta to this saucy mixture. Hot take- it was terrible. But I digress. 


Ok, now what about whipped coffee?


Whipped coffee was THE trend. If you weren’t making whipped coffee- what were you doing?


I was feeling nostalgic today, so I decided to make a whipped coffee to satisfy my craving. It’s a super easy recipe, so I suggest making one if you are itching to relive the quarantine days. 


Ingredients: 


  • 2 Tbsp. Instant Coffee

  • 2. Tbsp. Granulated Sugar

  • Milk


Step 1: Add 2 Tbsp granulated sugar to small bowl.


Step 2: Add 2 Tbsp. instant coffee to bowl.


Step 3: Pour 2-3 Tbst. hot water on top of sugar and coffee.


Step 4: Whip ingredients with milk frother or whisk until fluffy.


Step 5: Fill glass with ice, and pour milk about 2/3 to the top.


Step 6: Top milk with whipped coffee. Enjoy!
